We Are Primal!
Welcome to We Are Primal, A website dedicated to primal living.
What does it mean to live primally? I'm not talking about hunting with a spear and wearing a loin cloth. I'm talking about eating the way human evolution intended. The human body has evolved over millions of years to eat what the Earth gives us, yet in the last 100 years we have been producing foods that are highly processed and contain a questionable amount of chemicals. Just look at the ingredients listed on any boxed item in the grocery store, I'm sure you'll find a plethora of ingredient names that you don't know. Why would you put something in your body if you don't know what it is?
The primal diet (paleo diet) puts an end to the problem of eating highly processed "food."
So what can you eat on a Primal Diet? There are so many things you can eat, but I will give you the basic categories. The primal diet consists mainly of vegetables, lean meat, good fats, nuts, and fruit. You can create many different meals with just those options yet our current society has a large dependence on grains to fill a plate. Your body doesn't need grain. As a matter of fact, your body didn't evolve to eat grain. Grain based diets only became popular for humans in the last 10,000 years. Millions of years of human evolution ruined in 10,000 years of producing grain. We are getting fatter and fatter every generation because of our reliance on processed grain based diets.
